Package Pirate Prevention
Over 1.7 million packages are stolen from homeowners and renters daily, costing sellers $9 billion USD each year. This loss additionally has other costs, as many stolen items include medicine, home accessories, food, and other important items. So we designed a solution to this problem. Our solution features a Parcel delivery door (wood). Revolves around the axle located at the bottom corner of the door. It utilizes a wooden door flap with the purpose to enclose parcel delivery space and prevent theft. and Corrugated steel doors with kitchen cabinet handles. Secured with piano hinges.

Halloween Animatronics Project
Project Overview
Over the last few years, we have taken a variety of courses including PLTW, materials processing woods, metals, construction, CAD, and etc. During our coursework, we have acquired new skills and knowledge which we applied in this Halloween Animatronics Mini-Project. Some of these skills include using hand & power tools, understanding of mechanics, materials science, soldering, welding, graphic design, computer modeling, and testing. Working in teams of three-four, we utilized our acquired skills and previous knowledge from other courses to complete this mini-project. In this project we did researching, designing, and building of our very own animatronic Halloween prop that we tested in the innovation quad during the week of Halloween.

In this project we debated the ethics of scream energy from the "Monsters Inc" movie. Interpreting this movie allegorically, the children represent the earth, the screams represent fossil fuels, and the laughs represent renewable energy. This movie is saying that partnering with the earth (the child) to get its laughs (renewable energy) instead of torturing the earth to squeeze out its screams (fossil fuels) will be better for the earth and for us. Not bad advice.
